“Seller Says” -

We love our home on Jordan Branch because  of the beautiful changing views, the solitude, and the peace and quiet of the countryside. Love hearing the birds singing, watching the hummingbirds feeding, and the dragonflies on the water etc.. After dark,  the fireflies put on a fantastic show in the Summer.

In spite of this we are very convenient  to the University town of Mars Hill, and all the related activities there, and to the lovely mountain town of Burnsville.

Asheville is only 25 minutes drive away, and there, apart from the City itself, there is the wonderful Biltmore House to visit. The City is also getting a good reputation

for all the micro breweries that have sprung up, and which are very popular.

Between Mars Hill and Asheville there is the growing town of Weaverville where everything one might need is available.

Burnsville, in the other direction is only 20 minutes away down a good new divided highway.

We are 9 miles from the Tennessee border, and there is a beautiful scenic mountain road to Johnson City and the tourist town of Jonesboro.

We find there are many diversified activities to occupy our leisure time, including The French Broad River  choices  and yet every convenience for daily living.

We don't eat out a great deal - preferring to sit on our own covered deck and take in the beautiful mountain  views, we are lucky enough to have.

However there are several Restaurants we would recommend from the multitude

available.

In Mars Hill itself there is a very good Italian Restaurant called Papa Nick's.  He has been an established  take out for years,  but now has a very comfortable restaurant  too.

Another in Mars Hill would be the Pub on the crossroads of Main  Street -( the only set of traffic lights in Mars Hill,)  which serves good American food.

In Weaverville our favourites would be The Glass Onion on Main  Street   and the family run  "Chapala"  Mexican  restaurant, close to  Publix  and Big Lots.

Little Switzerland has The Chalet inside the hotel itself - with its fantastic mountain views, and which is easily reached via The Blue Ridge Parkway.

Asheville itself has an excellent restaurant in The Omni Grove Park Inn,  in addition to the fish restaurant The Bonefish Grill  on Tunnel Road.

Ruth's Steak House , and the  Grill in The Grand Bohemian Hotel. are both excellent, and both  are in the vicinity of Biltmore House.

There are also a couple of  new large hotels on the  Biltmore Estate itself - which we haven't tried yet.
