“Seller Says”
The things I love about living in Haywood County is that out home is conveniently located to everything: hospitals, doctor's offices, grocery stores, Walmart, local restaurants in the town of Waynesville. Everything is within a 15 minute drive, or less.
In the fall, the football rivalry between Tuscola and Pisgah high schools is nationally known. We love to eat at The Blue Rooster, Maggie's Galley, The Sweet Onion, Bogart's, Firefly's, and The Chief's Table.
Our favorite grocery store is Ingle's, an American family owned store. The staff is so very friendly and helpful. Publix is also an excellent grocery store. When we bought the property, we were drawn to the magnificent views, built to state standards roads with guard rails, LED lighting, and the warm, friendly neighbors. Haywood county and the town of Waynesville both have a small town feeling about them. The Apple Festival in Waynesville in the fall draws visitors from all over the southeast.
Junaluska Highlands is just an excellent place to live in all of Haywood County. We love to visit Lake Junaluska, which is 5 minutes away. Walking around the lake (a 2.6 mile trek) is great exercise with magnificent views.
Concerts at Stuart Auditorium featuring the local bluegrass band, Balsam Range, is a real treat. Fireworks at the 4th of July celebration are breathtaking for a small community. We enjoy walking our dog at the lake and the local dog park.
Touring the Blueridge Parkway (20 minutes away) in the fall is spectacular!
Our neighborhood is a group of some 42 homes occupied by friendly, caring, welcoming folks, When things need to be done, there is always a group of volunteers to take care of the issue. When medical issues arise, neighbors always bring over food and do whatever is necessary to ease the pain. Just plain old Southern hospitality.
Our utility costs are reasonable and moderate. Duke Energy is the electrical provider ($150 per month) and Suburban Propane ($68 per month) is our LP gas provider. Our municipal water is provided by Junaluska Sanitary District ( $45 per month).
