Wonderful sunsets and winter mountain views greet the great room and the huge master bedroom. Large picture windows are installed to take in the natural surroundings. Walk into the great room and the open floor-plan which is so inviting, especially on cooler days when the fireplace is warming your toes!

The hardwood floors are pristine, and the finishes neutral and fresh. Set off by a front porch, and completed by the back deck to enjoy what feels like your own mountain! The .99 acre lot affords privacy and feels like much more in the natural wooded surroundings.

Just 13 minutes to the restaurant town of Black Mountain, and the YMCA opposite Cheshire Village. 30 minutes drive to Asheville NC. Whether you are looking for a full time or a vacation home, this home offers tranquility and convenience.

Seller Says

The things I love about Black Mountain are that it is a quaint, artsy town with great restaurants and a small town feel. I moved here because there is a strong sense of community in Black Mountain and the pace here is more relaxed than increasingly busy Asheville.

I love to eat at Sake Sushi in Cheshire Village, which is just 10 minutes from here! Also in Cheshire Village, is the Black Bear Tavern, which has great burgers, pastas, and appetizers. The Artisan Gourmet Restaurant (also in Cheshire Village) has delicious choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner PLUS they offer a gourmet meal preceded by a free wine tasting every Thursday night. And for good BBQ, check out Phil's Bar-B-Que Pit, also only 10 minutes away.

I love the Black Mountain Ingles because it is an exemplary store with outstanding customer service. This store serves as a model store for all the Ingles supermarkets. They are friendly and go out of their way to help you. There's also an organic supermarket in town called Roots and Fruits. It features a wide variety of healthy, local produce from duck eggs to lemons to their own spring mix.

When I first viewed this house, the first thing I was drawn to was the peaceful and serene setting as I sat on the deck looking into the woods. The house is truly nestled in nature. Each room has windows, some oversized, and they all look out to pretty trees and greenery. There's no need to travel anywhere to see fall foliage when you have spectacular colors outside every window.

What I love about Black Mountain is the slower pace and abundance of nature. The surrounding mountains are breathtaking. Lake Tomahawk offers a peaceful walking trail in a pretty setting and is only 15 minutes away. The Light Center off Highway 9 features walking trails by a pond and a river and is only about 12 minutes from the house. The center also offers group meditations and workshops. My favorite place to hike is only 15 minutes from here in the town of Montreat (former home to the beloved Billy Graham). If you like walking along a rushing river, this is your place!

Saturdays, I go to the tailgate market in downtown Black Mountain which features fresh and organic produce from local farms and vendors through spring through fall. If you like fresh seafood, handcrafted soaps, and gorgeous wildflowers and more, you'll want to check it out!

I enjoy hiking and taking pictures of the beautiful scenery that abounds everywhere you look when you're in Black Mountain. It is the perfect combination of mountains, streams and rivers. One of the things that I enjoy about the community of High Rock Acres is that I am in a peaceful, private setting yet surrounded by neighbors who help each other out when needed. Many neighbors in High Rock Acres have periodic gatherings for holidays and other occasions. Everyone is invited, which creates a nice atmosphere here. The lots are so huge and surrounded by nature that it feels like living in a preserve, (High Rock is bordered by hundreds of acres of preserve) and yet the friendly get togethers are great to remember that there are folks around!

Electric service is provided by Duke Power Company and is reasonable. The average monthly electric bill at 206 Dalton Lane is approximately $125 per month. Water is provided by a private well and has always been clean and plentiful while I have lived here.
