This home is situated in lovely Biltmore Lake, at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, just up from the lake. Best floorplan, everything bar the bonus room on one level, including the two-car garage. Split bedroom plan gives the guest bedrooms privacy from the large master bedroom on the other side of the home.

Large living room has a gas log fireplace, and opens to the large deck with gazebo and motorized awning overlooking the yard and trees.

Office space. Feels very private, and yet offers all the Biltmore Lake amenities such as the lake, club house, walking trails, tennis and other amenities. This is one of the premium communities in the mountains, and is situated just 10 minutes to downtown Asheville.

The basement has high ceilings, and exterior entrance, plumbing for a bathroom, icynene insulation in the walls, and is ready for you to add a great deal of square footage - should you require more room.

“Seller Says” -

Candler, just across the border from the City of Asheville...thank goodness! We don't have to pay City taxes. They tried to annex us, but we in the Biltmore Lake development prevailed and now the entire state of North Carolina cannot do forced annexation! Candler is small town...our neck of the woods is very uneventful!
We are lucky to finally get a good pizza place nearby...Galactic Pizza. Griff's just opened a stone's throw from our home. In fact, you can easily walk there from our home! We look forward to trying them out. Rejavanation is in the Westridge center across Smoky Park Hwy. Try one of their quiches! Taco Billy is in the West Asheville area, but it's only for take-out currently. Fantastic tacos and nice staff. They can be busy, so use the order online function. Papas & Beer is near the AVL Outlets. They have an extensive menu. I like swapping out the beans & rice for their side salad. We like the variety of restaurants in Downtown. But Hendersonville and Waynesville and Weaverville and Fletcher and Arden and Mills River also have options. There are plenty of places to eat in the area.
There are plenty of grocery stores nearby. Ingles on Sand Hill is in walking distance, although no sidewalks from here to there. Food Lion is just across Smoky Park, along with our Wells Fargo Bank. If you are coming home via Brevard Rd, there is another new Ingles across from the Asheville Outlets.
What we were looking for when we moved here 11 years ago was simple...single story living. Moving from CA, we did not want to build a home and I had a spreadsheet of homes in Biltmore Lake. We got the home of our dreams...in Biltmore Lake. We also liked that the yard was not full of trees...only the front yard needs the TLC of leaf blowing during Fall! We love that we are in a cul-de-sac. And we have neighbors that look out for each other. One of the neighbors used his snow blower to clear several of our driveways after a good snowfall! I trade cat-sitting duties with a neighbor and her cat.
We like taking the Blue Ridge Parkway to go to Hendersonville Rd, instead of having to use highways. We like to take a drive (top down) along the BRP and then go into Brevard for a bite to eat, passing by a waterfall and Sliding Rock on the way. There are spots you can stop at to picnic along the road. There are lots of ways to get from Point A to Point B by using different local roads...fun way to explore the area.
When you make our home your home, you will put your own special touches on it. We were happy with status quo, but we know that someone else will have that special touch to make this home extra special. I will miss this, my perfect home. It has plenty of room for more than just two. And the 1400 sq feet of "storage space" in the unfinished basement, WOW! The garage is spacious, too. AND...our big front porch, we use it quite often. We added to our back deck so it could handle our get-togethers with friends. We hope you will enjoy this home for many years.
If you are new to the area, there are two newcomer clubs. For women only (with a few men's activities) is the Asheville Newcomers Club. For men and women, there is the Asheville New Friends. Both clubs offer a variety of activities for members. (Currently, some activities are curtailed due to COVID) There are so many great roads to drive in the area, with big cities in TN and SC just a short drive away.Golf is a hobby both of us enjoy. Broadmoor Golf Course, by the airport, is the only "flat" course around. Asheville Muni has an easy front 9 and a challenging back 9. There are quite a few courses within an hour drive. We also enjoy target shooting. There is a private pistol & rifle club minutes from our home. On Target off Sweeten Creek Rd is another favorite of ours. I organized a group of ladies in the Newcomers Club to go bowling twice a month. There are plenty of groups on the Biltmore Lake website that you can take advantage of.
Our neighborhood is like being on vacation every day. Walk around the corner and you are at Enka Lake. My normal routine would be doing my 3-mile walk from my home, around the lake, and back again. During COVID, our big front porch has been hosting "party on the porch" with a small group of friends who don't want to venture out. They pick up food from take-out and we provide the drinks! Oh, Halloween! Not this year, but we get about 500+ trick or treaters at Halloween. We have friends on our BIG front porch and make a party out of it!
Our natural gas is for cooking and heating. It is a minimum of $20/month to about $120/month during winter...because my hubby likes it warm and loves to use the gas fireplace to heat up our great room in the chilly months. (He is cold, I am HOT!) Water is about $80-100/bi-monthly. Electric averages about $125 month...we have lost of "phantom" things plugged in! We use Dodson Pest Control to spray outside bi-monthly for $68/visit. We use Grasshopper Lawn Care for "lawn care" only...minimally $45 for his mow/edge. Goes up as he does other items, such as seeding, weed spray, aerating, etc. Trash is paid via HOA dues. Our home is a perfect home to live in and entertain. The back yard is perfect for the kids to run around. And maybe to do a little golf "chipping"!
